About time there was an open forum to discuss not just where we’re headed as an industry (it’s all good from where I sit!) but issues like PR education and what to do to depfend our industry against the most egregious falsehoods — if I hear how we manipoulate the media (if only!) one more time — well you know what I mean!

Great initiative. We will be looking to this website and blog for thoughtful senior industry comments, insights into important topics that impact public relations and PR’s influence, and finally, as a source of intellectual leadership that already exists in our firms across the country. Good luck. We’ll be paying attention. Susanne C.

Looks good Joe. We’re off and running. This may be a first. I’m not sure there’s a blog anywhere on which the views of the senior-most professionals in a dozen or so agencies can come together. It’s great to be part of a social media/PR experiment. Here’s to success…

As chair of the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms I hope that our blog encourages open and honest discussion of our industry. We believe that we are not only having a positive impact on our clients’ communications initiatives, but also on their business.

We’ve got lots of issues to tackle, but we’re also helping to cut through the clutter to deliver important information. Let’s keep talking.

    Hello Earl,

Ouch. You are absolutely right. I should have caught those errors. Thanks for picking them up. They are corrected now.

Let that be a lesson to me! :-)

Hi everyone. As a student of the profession, it appears I may hold claim to being the first student post!

I’m certification at UVIC at the moment.

And your blog is working – I only found out this organization existed when I found the blog linked from some other blog.

I’ve been reading up, and curious to know what you guys think of 5W.

I expect to work as a practioner for a PR firm, or consultant and that agency appears to be rocking the boat!

Yes, even us students are excited about this.
