What is the difference between the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms and other PR associations / societies?
A:
The Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms is an agency-based organization as opposed to an individual-based membership organization. As the association that represents the business of public relations, the CCPRF’s mission is to build the strategic value of public relations for those who can benefit from hiring public relations services — in other words, building the profession.
Q:
Who is eligible to join?
A:
Companies offering public relations consulting services in Canada which have ten or more employees and annual public relations fee revenues of at least $1 million are eligible to join the CCPRF.
Q:
What are the benefits of membership?
A:
CCPRF members can participate in proprietary research projects and benchmarking exercises designed to drive business insight and support competitiveness. Members benefit from working with their peers on initiatives to strengthen the industry and their firms. The Council also provides a forum for public relations principals to discuss industry issues.
Q:
What types of initiatives has the Council undertaken?
A:
Over the past few years the Council has conducted surveys to provide insights into the compensation and benefits practices of public relations firms operating in the Greater Toronto Area. It has opened lines of communication between the industry and public relations educators in Ontario. It has organized and conducted a “PR Boot Camp” to provide agency employees with an opportunity to grow their communications consulting skills. The Council has also organized a number of panel discussions featuring leaders in the communications field. These sessions have been well attended by agencies and their clients.
Q:
How do I join the Canadian Council of PR Firms?
A:
Please contact the current Chair of CCPRF.
Q:
Can you refer me to a public relations firm?
A:
Because the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms represents Canada’s leading public relations firms, each of whom have met stringent eligibility criteria, the Council is unable to recommend one firm over another. You can, however, search for a firm that meets your needs on our web site. As well, descriptions of members firms are on our site.
CCPRF member firms offer expertise in a wide range of industry sectors and service areas.
